TAKING SALIVA MEASUREMENTS: Test approximately one hour after eating. Tear off one test strip. Make sure mouth is clear of any food or strong tastes (e.g. coffee, garlic, toothpaste). Spit onto test strip or dip into a small amount of collected saliva. Compare moistened test strip colour to the chart. The number closest to colour change observed reflects pH value of the saliva. TAKING URINE MEASUREMENTS: Tear off one test strip. Dip test strip into stream of urine or urine collected in a cup. Shake off excess. Compare moistened test strip colour to the chart. The number closest to the colour change observed reflects pH value of the urine. Results will tend to be slightly more acidic (a lower number) than saliva results.
